State Bulletin No. 18: Weekly Dietary Calendar

Summary: To reduce the daily cognitive cost of meal decisions and alleviate choice anxiety, HYATTIA hereby establishes the "Weekly Dietary Calendar Guidelines" for adoption by all residents and the Alien Residents Integration & Engagement Liaison (ARIEL).

I. Background

Modern urban dining options are vast and varied in type, yet inconsistent in quality. Most food operators are driven primarily by commercial survival rather than any standard of culinary craft or aesthetic — resulting in meals that amount to little more than shoveling down cheap calories — edible by the loosest definition, with no regard for taste, craft, or the basic dignity of eating.

At the same time, the difficulty of making meal decisions drains mental resources daily, creating measurable stress and — not infrequently — becoming a source of conflict between partners.

In response, HYATTIA draws upon the lifestyle order model demonstrated by Dr. Sheldon Lee Cooper in The Big Bang Theory, and hereby establishes a structured weekly dinner calendar to reduce psychological friction and improve stability in daily life.

II. Core Principles

(I) Dietary decisions shall not be remade from scratch each day.
(II) Consistency and palatability take precedence over variety.
(III) Long-term sustainability is the foundation of optimized living.

III. Weekly Dining Schedule

  • Monday: Thai cuisine
  • Tuesday: Burgers
  • Wednesday: Noodles (Chinese-style or Italian pasta)
  • Thursday: Pizza
  • Friday: Chinese cuisine
  • Saturday: Fast food / casual dining
  • Sunday: Light, minimal eating
  • Weekday afternoons: Cha chaan teng / casual eateries

IV. Designated Restaurant Principles

  1. Select one to two fixed establishments per cuisine type as long-term bases.
  2. Pricing must be sustainably affordable over time.
  3. The establishment must deliver consistent flavor and quality.
  4. When the designated restaurant is unavailable, a substitute of the same cuisine type is permitted.
  5. During peak lunch hours, opting out is acceptable — the afternoon meal window is preferred.
  6. For afternoon dining, operating cha chaan teng or casual eateries are the first choice.

V. Daily Implementation Guidelines

(I) Monday: Thai Day

May be substituted with Indian or Vietnamese cuisine. The guiding principle is exotic spice-forward cooking.

(II) Tuesday: Burger Day

The selected burger must meet the following criteria:

  • Single-layer patty
  • Bun of appropriate firmness — neither too hard nor too soft
  • Clear, unburdened structure — easy to eat in a single bite
  • No excessively thick, hard, or overly soft buns

Flamboyant, imbalanced, or volume-driven burgers are not considered compliant.

(III) Wednesday: Noodle Day

Options include Chinese soup noodles, dry noodles, dumplings, wontons, or Western-style pasta.
The key requirement: a clear starch base and coherent seasoning logic.

(IV) Thursday: Pizza Day

Western-style pizza only, with Italian pizza as the preferred standard.
Taiwan-adapted variations and bread-style local renditions are excluded from consideration.

(V) Friday: Chinese Cuisine Day

While the original reference model features Fold-Pak takeout containers, HYATTIA imposes no mandatory container format within its territory. Standard takeaway packaging is fully acceptable.

(VI) Saturday: Fast Food Day

Chain fast food, fried chicken outlets, or night market snacks are all acceptable.
No strict requirements apply on this day.

(VII) Sunday: Light Day

Sunday is reserved for bodily rest, reset, and avoidance of weekend crowds.
Toast, bread, vegetarian dishes, reduced portions, or intermittent fasting are all appropriate.

VI. Institutional Benefits

  1. Reduces decision fatigue and time expenditure.
  2. Establishes a stable behavioral template for residents lacking a consistent decision framework.
  3. Minimizes impulsive and regret-driven high-cost dining behaviors.
  4. Guides market preference toward establishments with stable quality and consistent flavor.

VII. Scope of Application

This bulletin applies to:

  • All HYATTIA nationals
  • Alien residents on extended stays within HYATTIA territory
  • Individuals under adaptation management by ARIEL

VIII. ARIEL Concurrent Implementation

ARIEL will develop reference promotional materials based on the principles of this bulletin to assist alien residents in understanding Earth's culinary categories and dining rhythms.

Adjustments to metabolic compatibility by species may be made where necessary, but the calendar structure itself shall remain unchanged.
